What SoCal Solar Help does—and does not do

We believe visitors should know who they are contacting and which company is responsible for any professional work before submitting their information.

What this website does

  • Publishes general solar educational information
  • Explains common equipment and monitoring problems
  • Helps visitors understand possible service options
  • Provides information about California solar rules
  • Accepts inquiries when the form service is enabled
  • Refers service inquiries to one identified contractor
  • Provides a direct call and text contact for that contractor

What this website does not do

  • Perform solar or electrical installations
  • Inspect roofs or electrical equipment
  • Diagnose individual systems remotely
  • Issue binding contractor estimates
  • Set installation or repair prices
  • Promise incentives, savings or financing approval
  • Provide its own workmanship warranty
  • Represent itself as a contractor's branch or office

Why SoCal Solar Help exists

Homeowners can face confusing choices when a solar installation stops working or when they are considering adding new equipment. Online information often focuses on selling complete new systems, even when an existing installation may only need professional diagnosis, repair or monitoring assistance.

The situation can be particularly frustrating when the original installer has closed. A homeowner may not know whom to contact about an inverter fault, manufacturer warranty claim, monitoring account or a roof replacement that requires temporary solar panel removal.

SoCal Solar Help organizes general information about these issues so visitors can better understand their options before contacting a qualified service provider.

We also cover new solar installations, battery storage, electric utility differences and questions that can affect the total cost or usefulness of a project.

Educational information is not a substitute for an onsite assessment, engineering review or professional electrical diagnosis. The actual property and equipment determine what work is appropriate.

How our referral process works

SoCal Solar Help has one identified installer referral relationship: Brightstone Renewable Energy, a Brightstone Electric company, California contractor license #1086871.

We do not present a directory of competing installers or suggest that visitors will receive multiple independent bids through this website.

  1. Read about your situation. Start with a relevant guide covering repairs, orphaned systems, monitoring, batteries or new installations.
  2. Contact the installer. The primary call and text links connect directly to Brightstone at (818) 863-6250. Alternatively, visitors may use a website inquiry form once form processing is enabled.
  3. Provide relevant information. Useful details include the city, service needed, equipment brand, system age and a description of the problem or planned project.
  4. Brightstone evaluates the request. The licensed contractor determines whether the location and type of work fall within its current service capabilities.
  5. Brightstone handles the work. If service proceeds, Brightstone is responsible for inspections, estimates, scheduling, contracts and any agreed installation or repair work.

Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee an appointment, diagnosis, estimate or project acceptance. Any diagnostic charges, service pricing and other terms should be explained by the contractor before work is authorized.

Our relationship with Brightstone Renewable Energy

Brightstone is the sole contractor to which service inquiries from this website are referred. The referral relationship should not be confused with ownership or operation of the contractor.

SoCal Solar Help is a separate information and referral website. Brightstone Renewable Energy is the business responsible for professional solar and electrical services.

The referral relationship may provide a commercial benefit to the website operator. That relationship is disclosed so visitors understand that Brightstone is the designated referral partner, not a contractor selected through an impartial comparison of multiple competing bids.

These are contractor-reported facts, not independently verified endorsements by SoCal Solar Help. Visitors should verify current license status, manufacturer certifications, review information and applicable warranty terms before entering into an agreement.

What does the 25-year workmanship warranty mean?

Brightstone reports offering a 25-year workmanship warranty. Workmanship coverage is different from manufacturer equipment warranty coverage.

A solar installation may have separate warranties for panels, inverters, batteries and installation labor.

The specific terms, exclusions, duration and claims process for each warranty should be reviewed in writing.

SoCal Solar Help does not issue a workmanship warranty and is not responsible for honoring Brightstone's warranty obligations.

What geographic area is covered?

Brightstone reports serving Southern California from Lancaster to San Diego.

That broad description does not mean every service is available at every address. Project suitability, travel distance, equipment requirements and scheduling can affect availability.

Our local information guides currently include Glendale, Pasadena and Burbank.

These are educational location pages. They do not represent separate SoCal Solar Help offices or physical contractor branches.

How we approach solar information

Solar equipment, incentive programs, utility tariffs and building requirements can change over time.

This website aims to explain the main considerations without promising particular savings, rebate eligibility, equipment compatibility or repair outcomes.

California utility differences

The California Net Billing Tariff, commonly called NEM 3.0, applies to eligible customers of SCE, PG&E and SDG&E. Under that tariff, exported solar electricity generally receives much lower credits than retail electricity purchase prices.

Municipal utilities including Glendale Water & Power, Pasadena Water & Power and Burbank Water and Power have their own program rules.

A reliable project assessment must use the customer's actual utility and tariff.

Federal homeowner solar incentives

The federal Residential Clean Energy Credit ended for homeowner expenditures made after December 31, 2025.

The former 30% federal homeowner purchase credit should not be promised for new 2026 residential solar or qualifying battery purchases.

Other potential programs may have separate eligibility and funding requirements. Commercial tax rules should be evaluated independently.

Repair and equipment information

General troubleshooting content does not establish that a particular component has failed.

Solar and battery electrical equipment can be hazardous. Professional diagnosis is appropriate when electrical testing, component replacement or system modifications are required.

How inquiry information is handled

Website inquiry forms request information that helps identify the visitor and describe the requested service.

This may include name, phone number, email address, city or ZIP code, equipment information and a written description of the project.

When form processing is configured and an inquiry is submitted, the information is intended to be provided to Brightstone Renewable Energy for evaluating and responding to the service request.

Forms include an unchecked consent checkbox naming both SoCal Solar Help and Brightstone Renewable Energy.

Visitors should not submit monitoring passwords, payment card information, Social Security numbers or sensitive financial documents through general inquiry forms.

For more information about data collection, referrals and privacy, read our Privacy Policy .
